Core Values - Part 2
“Build upon sound fundamentals” sounds great, but what exactly does it mean to us? Sound fundamentals essentially means executing the basics at a really high level and being reliable in all the right ways. For a soft goods company, that means using quality materials and proven construction techniques. Quality materials means using fabric and hardware from name-brand industry partners like Cordura, Dimension-Polyant, Challenge Sailcloth, Duraflex, YKK, WeTool, and the like. Durable construction techniques include adding reinforced stitching to secure high stress points, using quality binding material to seal raw edges, and quality controlling every step of the process. As gear heads and bag nerds these are the sort of things we expect from any brand claiming to offer a quality product.
But we want to offer something more than the basics, we want to build upon those minimums and offer something more for adventure seekers and soft goods enthusiasts. Our goal as we design and build products is to incorporate one key feature or calling card that makes the bag more unique, functional, and quite frankly, more fun to use. This is where we as a young company get to be creative in the design process. Because our brand is not locked into one style over another, we can pick and pull our favorite features from different pack styles to build unique pack systems. Of course, we won’t build something if we don’t feel like we can do it well, both from a technical standpoint and a creative perspective. Sure we could release a basic backpack or duffel, but if we’re not flexing some creative muscle along the way then we’re not really hitting our goal of doing more than just the basics.
We appreciate you following along with us as we share more about who we are and what’s important to us. If you enjoyed this read feel free to share it with other bag nerds or carry enthusiasts, we appreciate the support.
